Plum trees!

My friend and I went to see plum trees in a park this weekend. There were around 100 kinds of and total 1200 plum trees in the park. Some of the trees are really rare- I heard that there are a few trees called "Kanogyokucho" in Japan and one of them is in the park. It's an interesting tree because a few plates have another plate inside and then another again and again! There were also trees with a mix of pink plates and white plates. I even saw a mix of white and pink parts in a plate! I've been away from my hometown (countryside!) so it's important for me to go to see and feel the season.

Hello Kitty in Kimono

I found a Hello Kitty postcard set in Post Office the other day. Hello Kitty wears Kimono on one of the postcards with cherry blossom around her. When I found it I thought it's nice to send this postcard to my friend who called me when I was sick because she likes kimono, too, so I bought several sets!

Chinese class

I have been studying Chinese for two years and I go to class once or twice in a month. I studied Chinese at school, but unfortunately I forgot most of them, so I'm blushing up my language skills. Here is my self-introduction...

This is a healing or beauty product popular in beauty salon in Beijing. You put on fire on the this straw-like product and put the other side of the straw in your ear. You will hear the fire burning and it's supposed to be good for you.










I put the fire on it this evening, but I was kind of scared to try so blew it out. If there is anyone who know about this product, please give me more info!

Valentine's Day

Yesterday was Valentine's Day! In Japan, usually we, women give chocolates to men (boyfriend, husband, family, boss etc.) to tell them that we love them or we thank them. Some chocolate company started this tradition in 1960's. We have the day called "White Day" on March 14 for women to receive sweets from men in return!

My Valentine's chocolate this year was a little box of toruffles from Morozoff. Happy Valentine's Day!

Phone call

I had an unexpected call to my cell phone in the middle of the week. I didn't know the number, but I called it back later. It turned out that it was a lady (my mom's age) who I was supposed to have lunch with last weekend. She wanted to check if I was doing okay because I was not able to join the lunch. How sweet she is! It is nice that somebody cares about you when you don't totally expected. Maybe, having a cold is not always so bad :)

Cold!

I caught a cold this week and stayed in bed for the last two days. It's nice to take a day-off during weekdays. I watched "The Office" Season 1 on computer. I wish I could find the "World's Best Boss" cup somewhere and give it to my boss, which could be really ironic :)
